Timing

All in the Lord's timing.

We hear this often but I recently just really thought about it in detail.

The Lord's timing has changed my life in so many different ways.  I recently asked myself some very personal questions:

With my marriage:
Paul and I really have "grown up" together.  We got married when I was 18 and he was 19.  We were still deciding who we wanted to be.

Luckily, we took this journey together and the Lord had his hand in it every step of the way.  Our marriage has taken work and dedication, as any marriage does.  However, I wonder...If I would have met Paul in high school would he have become my husband?  I doubt it.  If I would have met him in my mid-twenties, would he have become my husband?  Who knows.

All I know is that I am thankful that the Lord brought this man into my life when he did!
With my job:
Hopefully you all know how much I adore my job.  It is what I was meant to do.  It fits all my strengths and allows me to do what I am truly called to do-be a mother and a missionary.

However, Scentsy came into my life at the perfect time.  Had I been introduced to Scentsy at the first of my teaching career, I doubt I would have pursued Scentsy.

With my passion:
This cannot even be explained!  I have NEVER wanted to travel to poverty-ridden places to fulfill His purpose.  I was happy being a good little Christian right here in the US of A.  Never really stepping out of my comfort zone.  Living with those that were like me.  But BAM!  He had a different plan!

Even with His plan though came His timing.  Had I met Heather while I was teaching, it wouldn't have mattered how passionate I was about her cause, I would not have been able to leave my classroom to go to Haiti.  I would not have had the extra time to fundraise for her.  It simply would not have happened.

Me with Heather Elyse

So the next time that you want your life to go perfectly, to go as YOU have planned it, STOP!  Remember that the Lord has a plan for your life.  He has perfect timing!
